The vision about squares in different colors could not leave my mind… I bought different kinds of tiles in different colors, shits of glass, glass cutter. I spent hours on cutting.
First I was terrified by cut glass. Through whole my existence I have heard my mom’s voice “do not touch the broken glass, you can cut yourself”. It was not easy to buy glass cutter and to start using it… to cut triangles from regular tiles… wow you should see my face… I did it and now I feel much better when I cut and touch glass.
So finally I had cut the pieces I needed for next project… a blue frame.
The first red frame was so beautiful that I was scared to glue blue tiles… Luckily I was enchanted by tiles… and I did the first step…
From the first glued tile to the last I spent hours solving the puzzles…
Mosaic is really time consuming occupation. In the middle of creation process I have never had idea to leave it because it was too tiredly but I have been questioning the point of gluing the tiles, one after another… It is good that the vision of finished piece keeps me on track… every time. It is worth to work longer to see the shiny, sparkly tiles putted together in one beautiful mosaic at the end
So I was working two nights till 3 am to see the frame in blue
It was interesting to keep balance in colors, tiles’ texture, form. I was putting the tiles together, changing composition, exchanging some pieces… checking which color would be the best one…
Preparing the tiles I saw only blue color and some sea blue from time to time. I did not expected the sea blue tiles would dominated the color palette. At the end I was really happy because the frame was lighter with the light sea blue color.
I found out the sea blue color is called “ice blue”. Good to know it for the next time!
I finished the frame one week ago but not totally. I need to grout it…I have to wait to do it until I finish another piece that matches to the frame… In my mind I have the second part of the blue project…. So it is not the end yet.
